Hello,

I supported DeviantArt subscribing for a few years, I stopped some time ago as I do not like the way DeviantArt evolved, now that popup about Adblocker on every page confirm that I'm more annoyed browsing DA than seeing all the nice things people share. Yes I'm this kind of 'ad-lergic' people that think the content is not worth being seen if it's hidden behind/polluted by ads, I'm systematically closing any internet page/video that starts with an ad or an ad-blocker detection whatever the content, and DA joined these. (And for those wondering, no I don't watch TV or listen to radio as I can't bear the spamming, I barely watch DVDs because of the ads/trailers that sometime you can't skip that I have absolutely no interest in and are f. annoying when all I want is to start the movie, and I have a nice collection of CDs/MP3s that are ad-free and beat any radio - And I don't pirate anything, all is bought in support to people that made them, included hundreds of video games ;))

I know running websites is not free, I subscribe when I feel it's worth it, but I'd rather have DA invest my money on making the site better than detecting usage of addons and annoying people, and that's another reason I feel like I won't subscribe again.
And I understand the evolution about the other things I don't like, it just not suits me anymore.

So I'll probably deactivate my account soon, I see no point of leaving it alive if I don't visit regularly...

I'll miss some art and people, maybe I'll see you somewhere else, if you have any recommendation I'll gladly take them !

/sadgoodbye

Hello, Happy new year everybody !

Mine is starting pretty well with a Daily Deviation surprise when I logged back - thanks to KPEKEP and TehAngelsCry for the daily deviation on
Another World XXIV . Foundry . WallPaper by Kaeltyk

For me the new year will start with the resolution to use my (not so new) graphic tablet - let's hope it will turn well... :D

was nominated a Daily Deviation, thanks to SaTaNiA !
This was a nice surprise, coming back after a few days away, and a motivation to create a new journal :D

That's now five months I moved to Montreal, QC and that's been very nice. My job is great as always (this is still my 'dream job', I'm not bored after 15 years now), and working on a huge project make it even better (for those in video games, I'm working on 'Watch_Dogs'. You may have heard of this ;) ).
The 'relocalization' had gone smoothly, the town is great, the summer was very nice, my family joined me finally and make the place lively... the stress is almost over ! (we still have some stuff to handle in France though).

and I don't have more time than before to create fractals, maybe even less as I started practicing Archery again so I'm not very active - but I still follow some fractal art and create some from time to time.

• Thank you •

Many thanks to all of you who share your work and appreciate mine by faving or commenting, I know I'll never have enough time to answer you all but every feedback is warmly welcome.
's,
Eric.

Moving

Just a quick word to say I'm currently two weeks away from flying to Montreal, Canada to work there for a few years (at least :)), so I'm busy and messages start to stack up and they will keep on stacking until I'm fully set up.
That's exciting and a bit tiring at the same time but I'm so happy to move !

I've been playing recently with some real-time code at glsl.heroku.com/, and I like how you can code and see results in real time - and some fractals are there too.
I saved two tweaks, check glsl.heroku.com/e#1538.2 and glsl.heroku.com/e#1515.4 if you're curious, and happy playing with the code.

Only drawback now : need some browser and system that allow this, and maybe a good computer.

For me this really hints at the future of fractal softwares : realtime, and flexible!
